Generic thanks (“great job, everyone”) fades fast. Mention what the team did, what it cost them, and what it achieved — and name individuals where you can.
How to write it
- Name the project or period you’re thanking them for.
- Acknowledge effort and sacrifice, not just results.
- Mention individual contributions where possible.
After a big project
Thank you all for an incredible launch. The late nights and careful testing showed — zero critical bugs.
We shipped it! Thank you for the focus, the collaboration, and the humour along the way.
This project was harder than any of us expected, and you delivered anyway. Thank you.
Thank you for pulling together when it mattered most. I’m proud of this team.
The client is thrilled, and that’s down to every one of you. Thank you.
After a hard quarter
This quarter asked a lot of everyone. Thank you for showing up, supporting each other, and getting us through.
I know the last few months have been tough. Thank you for your resilience.
Thank you for keeping your standards high when it would’ve been easy to cut corners.
We got through it together. Please take some well-earned rest.
End of year
Thank you for a brilliant year. I’m grateful to work with such a talented, kind team.
Looking back on this year, I’m proud of what we built and how we built it. Thank you.
Thank you for every launch, every fix, and every kind word to each other this year.
Have a wonderful break. You’ve more than earned it.
Short thank-yous
Thank you, team — amazing work.
Proud of every one of you.
Thank you for everything you do.
Best team I’ve worked with. Thank you.
What to avoid
- Thanking the team while announcing more work in the same message.
